About Derk
I’m 28 and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. I grew up near Louisville, Kentucky and went to the University of Louisville, where I earned bachelors and masters degrees in computer engineering & computer science and worked for the Navy. I spent a year at the University of Waterloo doing cryptography research & Ph.D. work with the electrical & computer engineering department, then came back to Louisville to finish off my Ph.D. but became disillusioned with academia and dropped out to pursue poker.
